    When replacing the distributor cap and protective cover, always check the inside of the old distributor cap and\/or protective cover. If an oil film or traces of oil are present on the inside, there is a high probability that the rotor shaft (distributor shaft) seal is worn.<\/p>\n

    A leaking oil seal can cause contamination of the distributor cap and rotor, which can lead to ignition problems, misfiring, irregular engine running, and a shorter lifespan of the ignition components.<\/p>\n

    If oil is present in the distributor, it is therefore recommended to replace the rotor shaft seal at the same time, so that the new distributor cap can function optimally and achieve a maximum service life.<\/p>\n
