This NGK Iridium spark plug is a high-quality replacement for the original Mercedes spark plug with OEM number A0031591603 / 0031591603. Thanks to the iridium center electrode, this spark plug delivers a more powerful and stable spark than a conventional nickel spark plug. This ensures better combustion, smoother engine operation, a more reliable cold start, and a longer service life. We also frequently use this spark plug in our own garage.

Important

Always check new spark plugs for transport damage before installation. Dented packaging may indicate that the ceramic insulator part has sustained a hairline crack. Damaged ceramic can come loose during use and cause serious engine damage.

Always check the prescribed electrode gap before installation. Even new spark plugs may have a deviating electrode gap during transport or storage. If necessary, carefully adjust the gap according to Mercedes factory specifications.

We recommend replacing spark plugs preventively every 8 years or 30,000 kilometers,  to replace, depending on which is reached first. MHowever, an iridium spark plug can theoretically last up to 100,000 km. Due to the iridium electrode, these spark plugs often have a significantly longer lifespan in practice than conventional spark plugs, provided the vehicle manufacturer does not prescribe a shorter replacement interval.

For optimal performance, we recommend always replacing spark plugs as a complete engine set. Simultaneously check the condition of the spark plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor to prevent voltage loss and ignition malfunctions.
