After decades, the original Mercedes fuel hoses are often due for replacement. The original Mercedes fuel hoses are on the inside provided with a hard vinyl layer, while the exterior consists of rubber. Due to aging, the vinyl layer becomes hard and brittle. At the same time, the rubber on the outside also gradually loses its flexibility and strength. As a result, the hose can tear or even break off completely without clear warning. This can lead to fuel leakage, starting problems, and in the worst case, a fire hazard.

Therefore, always check during maintenance whether the hose is still firmly attached to the connections. This fuel hose is slid over the connections at the factory without hose clamps.
